A special workshop by indigenous artist Sid Bruce at St. Vincent’s Technical School was organized by SLANA together with Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka, for providing the opportunity for young children to an exposure of   creative innovation.

This special art is promoted on “Ghost Nets” which is the use of recycled fishing nets for art pieces.

The innovative workshop demonstrated how sea  pollution is minimized by clearing away of broken fishing nets and the possibilities of adopting environment friendly leisure habits , which could ultimately lead to lucrative income generation ventures ,for those in the coastal belt.
